In partnership with Pride Families, the BeHuman Campaign, Equality Texas, Fiesta Youth, HRC San Antonio, LezRideSA and others, Pride Center San Antonio brought the LGBTQ+ community together for a kid-centric day in Woodlawn Lake Park that came complete with hot dogs, chips, drinks and an Easter egg hunt.
As a means to further Pride Center San Antonio’s efforts and goals, members of the LGBTQIA community converged at the Guadalupe Theater on March 25 for JPL Productions’ Emerald Ball, an annual fundraiser showcasing an array of drag and burlesque performers.
Approximately 40 candidates running for mayor and city council came to the Stonewall Democrats of San Antonio endorsement forum on March 26 at the Metropolitan Community Church. Benefiting The Center (Pride Center San Antonio), the second annual New Year’s Eve Kiki rang in 2017 at the Hilton Palacio Del Rio with cocktails, dancing, panoramic views of the Hemisfair fireworks and performances by Yara Sofia of RuPaul’s Drag Race fame.
Following a theme of “Peace, Love, Pride,” the 2016 edition of the Pride Bigger Than Texas festival brought the LGBTQ community out for a family-friendly day in Crockett Park with a mass wedding, a gay newlywed game and entertainment from drag performers, dance-pop diva Kristine W. and Pride Championship Westling.
