Eat, drink, and bid for a good cause

The San Antonio Aids Foundation’s second annual Bid & Brunch is taking place August 9 at the Red Oak Ballroom from 10:30 am until 2:30 pm. Guests can look forward to a brunch buffet offering huevos rancheros and smoked salmon, a Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar, and live swing and jazz music by Johnny P and the Wise Guys. All of the proceeds from the auction will go towards SAAF’s client services, which include free HIV and syphilis testing, skilled nursing, case management, and the Nourishing SAAF dietary program.

Presale tickets are not available anymore, but tickets are still available at their regular price of $50. Tickets cover the cost of food and drinks and access to the silent auctions. Items up for bid in the silent auctions will include art, jewelry, gift certificates, and tickets to various events, among other things. Some prizes up for grabs through the live auction include a trip for four to Disney Land, two Southwest Airlines tickets, and a diamond pendant.

The San Antonio Aids Foundation is the only organization in Texas that provides residential special/ hospice care for HIV/AIDS patients and is the largest licensed Department of Stare Health Services HIV/AIDS special care facility in the state. Tickets can be purchased online.
