This Saturday, July 25, Giomara Bazaulda, leader of the Zombie Bazaar Panza Fusion dance troupe will be hosting Queer Base, an LGBTQI led revue at Brick at the Bluestar Arts Complex.
Chris Conde, Pink Leche, Zombie Bazaar Panza Fusion, and DJ P. Cosita are among the performance artists participating. Guests can expect a blend of “conscious hip hop” and “elements of soul and indie folk rock” from Conde. Pink Leche will be performing self-described “queer bass,” and the Zombie Bazaar dancers will be dancing to “eclectic and campy music” to “complement their high energy and creepy theatrics.”
SA Queer Collective will be bringing groups of artisan vendors to the event so attendees can look forward to viewing and purchasing original art and handcrafted items. Local chef Nadita Casperalta will also be serving “sweet delights and little snacks to be devoured by attendees.”
“Queer Base not only brings together the arts and social awareness but it creates a venue for artist to fully express themselves through various mediums. This space gives the city and the art community exposure to one another as well as provides an outlet for up and coming artist,” says Bazaldua. This is only the first Queer Base, Bazaldua adds, and attendees can look forward to future installments.
The event will start at 8 pm and end at midnight. There will be a $3 cover. Come out to support your local LGBTQI artists!
