With Halloween just around the corner, the San Antonio Classic Chassis Car Club will host the Golden Ghouls Car Show on October 21 in the parking garage above Luther’s Cafe.

The local chapter of Classic Chassis is affiliated with the Lambda Car Club which nationwide has over 2200 members who are the owners of over 1700 vintage and novelty automobiles. The San Antonio chapter hosts the show every four years.

Tom Garza, president of the local club, told Out In SA he was expecting approximately 60 cars to be part of the show, making it one of the largest Classic Chassis events to date. He added that almost 100 members from affiliate clubs across the state are expected to be in town for the event.

“We are well known in the LGBT community in San Antonio as our cars have carried Pride Parade dignitaries for years. We hold events and meetings monthly and our club is growing. We want to insure that everyone who has an interest in cars is invited to enjoy this show and our club,” Garza said.

The name of the show, which is usually called the Golden Girls Car Show, was changed this year to Golden Ghouls because of its proximity to Halloween. In keeping with that theme, Classic Chassis has planned a series of events for members including a Paranormal Tour of San Antonio, a motorcade through the city and a Sunday brunch at the El Tropicano Hotel.

The car show, which will be held on Saturday evening, will capture the Halloween spirit with a “haunted” show category and a Mystery Theater theme.

“This is just one of many events we have in San Antonio,” said Shayne Bossard, vice president of Classic Chassis. “Golden Ghouls 2017 is especially exciting as we not only show our cars and enjoy time with our statewide members but we showcase the city of San Antonio and all it has to offer.”

Classic Chassis Car Club presents Golden Ghouls Car Show, Saturday, October 21 in the parking garage above Luther’s Cafe, 1503 North Main from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Free and open to the public. Information about the complete roster of Golden Ghouls weekend events is available at this link.
