‘Out in the Dog Park’ Brings Pet Lovers Together

For many of us, our pets are an extension of our families. They provide us with companionship, are loyal to a fault, and ask for very little in return.

A new social group is hoping to bring local LGBT pet lovers and their pups together for monthly outings and play dates.

After the success of their first meet-up, organizer Enrique Andrade decided to make Out in the Dog Park a monthly event.

“I felt that we needed something to further diversify the social interactions of the San Antonio LGBT community,” he said. “Of course we have the clubs and bars, and now, thankfully, we have our growing sports leagues. So having a dog related event seemed a great idea to give people who don’t do the bars or play sports an opportunity to interact.”

The next Out in the Dog Park meet-up will be on Saturday, November 5 at Madison Square Dog Park, 400 Lexington Ave., between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
