Alexander Wang x H&M preview

Hold on to your titties, kitties, because Alexander Wang’s collection for H&M is about to drop and wipe that bored look right off your little faces. The collection–out November 6–is a dark, sporty chic look you could easily transition from Zumba to the Heat. The complete look book was released today and it seems to have put the Internet into a high anticipatory state.

A sea of neoprene, leather, and sweatshirts all in a muted black and grey palette are the base model, accented with long gloves and beanies with “WANG” larger-than-life in white. While I am not quite sure if I want to wear a rounded hat that almost literally screams “dick head,” I myself am partial to the black sports bra top emblazoned with the same logo.

Another thing I noticed were the very sheer mesh elements in the women’s wear, and details that would altogether not be noticed if you wore a bra. The exhibitionist in me LOVES that. Sometimes a beautiful piece of art that you wear is emphasized more by the natural tone of your skin underneath. Plus, not having your tatas locked away in Boob Jail for a night feels amazing. I hope to see some nips blasting at SA Fashion Week!

The menswear was very print and texture heavy, including a muted giraffe print of which I am a huge fan. More leather looks than neoprene, and carryall bags to die for, this line is sure to get you noticed on the town as the weather starts to get a little chilly.

Other, more gender-neutral, accessories include boxing gloves, goggles, and a yoga mat, perhaps Wang’s answer to the recent appearance of luxury sports goodies such as the Chanel surfboard.

The line is at a slightly higher price point than what we are used to seeing from H&M, but trust me, it’ll be well worth it. This limited time collection is that special mix of trendy and classic that will see wear for seasons to come.
