An ‘Out Loud’ fashion event

The City of San Antonio Metropolitan Health District and Sanford Brown College are putting on a unique fashion show on May 29 at La Villita to create awareness around HIV testing and knowing your status.

The show, titled Fashion Out Loud, was created in partnership with the City of San Antonio and Sanford Brown College as an innovative way to educate the community about HIV testing.

According to organizers, the first part of the show is called “Condom Couture,” a fun way to bring up condoms and the importance of engaging in protected sex.  Each of these designs will be made of mostly condoms. The second part of the show is themed “Red Dress” to signify blood and testing for HIV.

All the designs are created by Sanford Brown fashion design students with hair and makeup by Strut Hair Dressing and 22 Salon & Spa. The emcee for the show will be drag performer Davina Star, who is also a fashion student at Sanford Brown.
