San Antonio College’s Music Business Program presents Fredstock 2015, an annual music festival as well as an educational experience for students in the program. The one-day showcase provides students with the chance to learn how to put together a music festival from booking musical acts to promoting the event. To the public, the festival is a party packed with great musical acts, food and drinks but for the SAC students it’s a chance to show off all of the knowledge they have gained during the semester.

Guests can enjoy sponsored booths, featuring arts and crafts, community businesses and food trucks while listening to great local and regional acts. Some of this year’s performers include Jimmy Spacek, Ruben V., Los #3 Dinners, Eddie and The All Nighters, and Granvil Poynter. Fredstock will also be simulcast on SAC’s  student-run radio station KSYM 90.1 FM.

Fredstock is named after Fred Weiss, who headed the Music Business Program at San Antonio College and was a professor in the Radio/TV/Film program at the college for more than 20 years. Money raised from Fredstock will directly benefit the Music Business Program at SAC.
