Benefiting The Center (Pride Center San Antonio), the second annual New Year’s Eve Kiki rang in 2017 at the Hilton Palacio Del Rio with cocktails, dancing, panoramic views of the Hemisfair fireworks and performances by Yara Sofia of RuPaul’s Drag Race fame.

Pride Bigger Than Texas Festival 2016

Following a theme of “Peace, Love, Pride,” the 2016 edition of the Pride Bigger Than Texas festival brought the LGBTQ community out for a family-friendly day in Crockett Park with a mass wedding, a gay newlywed game and entertainment from drag performers, dance-pop diva Kristine W. and Pride Championship Westling.

SA Community Comes Together in Wake of Orlando Tragedy

More than 100 LGBT San Antonians and their allies came out Sunday evening to show solidarity in the wake of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida. A vigil held in Crockett Park featured short comments from local leaders including State Rep. Diego Bernal, Police Chief William McManus, City Councilwoman Rebecca Villagran and John Cabrera

RuPaul’s Drag Race season eight fan favorite Thorgy Thor — a classically trained violinist, fun-loving “fashion clown” and Brooklyn nightlife fixture — performed at Heat on May 25 with support from Rey Lopez Entertainment Showgirls Tencha la Jefa, Amerie Parker, Nilaya Milan Raven, Aaron Andrews, Chyna Cravens and Alayna Marquez.
